Volvo Trucks North America, Volvo Financial Services (VFS), and Quality Custom Distribution Services LLC (QCD) — a Golden State Foods LLC company — have collaborated on the largest deployment of Volvo VNR Electric trucks to date that support last-mile food and beverage deliveries. QCD utilized the innovative vehicle lease options and charging infrastructure financing solutions available through VFS, which were introduced to reduce the barriers fleet customers can encounter when switching to zero-tailpipe emission technologies.

Even as he started out with one small tractor in 1985, Jan Bakker had a dream of one day operating in the dairy industry. Fast forward nearly 40 years, and the company he founded is now one of the major operators in the agriculture sector in his native Netherlands. And, with the help of Volvo on and off the road, he’s also become a trailblazer in the electric vehicle transition.

Halfway through 2024, Volvo Financial Services (VFS) and JA (Junior Achievement) Worldwide have reached more than 10,000 students with financial literacy curriculum, thanks to the efforts of more than 180 VFS employee volunteers and support from dozens more JA educators. Combined with the 14,000 plus youth reached last year, VFS and JA have now equipped more than 24,000 students with skills such as entrepreneurial thinking, budgeting, financial goal setting, career development and more, positioning them for future success personally and professionally.
